Refractory migraine in a headache clinic population.
Abstract
The article presents a study to determine the frequency of refractory migraine in patients attended in a headache unit in a tertiary care center. The study population consisted of a consecutive sample of 370 patients with a mean age of 43 years evaluated for the first time. Overall migraine and tension-type headache were found in 46.4% and 20.5% of patients, respectively and refractory migraine was found in 5.1% of patients.
