It outlines several protagonists contained in NDiaye's writing who are described as idiotic people including Eugène in "En famille," Charlotte in "Un temps de saison," and Isabelle in "La Sorcière. It states that NDiaye's writing suggest that the viability of emotional relationship of the subjects is at stake in the problem of human intelligence.
