- Abstract
The article presents information on the journal "Sociological Inquiry." This issue of the journal is the first in a series to be edited by a new editorial staff. This change is part of the regular turnover which occurs about every five years. The new staff, in keeping with inexorable evolutionary trends, is larger and more differentiated. Paul Hare, as editor oversees and coordinates all activities and generally passes on all manuscripts. The deputy editor, Andrew Effrat, initially receives all manuscripts and distributes them to consulting editors for anonymous evaluation. The next issue is on "Applications of Parsonian Theory," and is already nearing completion. Edited by Andrew Effrat, deputy editor, it will include a contribution from Parsons as well as discussions of the utility of Parsons' work for analysis of social change, "primitive" societies, personality systems. Lawrence Taylor will be exploring ways in which undergraduate or graduate students can be encouraged to publish articles in the journal either as part of a special issue or as contributions to one of the regular issues.
