- Abstract
Introduction: Neurocysticercosis is still a common problem in countries living the epidemiological transition towards development. Case report: Herein is presented the case of a 66-year-old Mexican male, with long-standing diabetes, under hemodialysis, with persistent headache associated with nausea and fatigue, without response to conventional analgesics, cranial tomography exhibited findings suggestive of cysticerci, which is confirmed by immunological tests. The patient was treated with praziquantel and albendazol for 2 weeks, showing complete response and remission of symptoms. Conclusion: Neurocysticercosis should be suspected in endemic countries, especially in immunocompromised individuals.
