- Abstract
Low cost and green recycling of titania-bearing slag is an important aspect of the circular economy to ensure the sustainable development of the titanium industry. In this paper, the existing titanium extracting techniques are comprehensively summarized. The principles, advantages, as well as existing problems are clarified in relation to traditional and novel titanium extraction processes. With the continuous advancement of global carbon-neutral targets, future novel titanium extraction techniques should pay more attention to solving the existing environmental and resource problems by constructing basic thermodynamic databases and dynamic models. Based on these new techniques and fundamental data, further titanium extracting processes should be developed in the direction of green, low-cost, short flow route and high-efficiency systems.
