- Abstract
Ultrasound‐induced self‐assembly and gelation is a hitherto unknown property of a squarine derivative (GA‐SQ). In their Full Paper on page 12991 ff., V. K. Praveen, A. Ajayaghosh, N. Armaroli et al. report detailed studies of the application of ultrasound to stimulate the nucleation and growth of extended nanostructures by altering the conditions for supersaturation. The influence of nanoscale substrates on the self‐assembly of GA‐SQ through a heterogeneous nucleation process is also demonstrated. This strategy could pave the way to the rational design of nanostructured composites by cheap and facile methods.
