- Abstract
The article, written in both French and English, discusses the practice of literary translation as of 2010 within the Canadian publishing industry. The author explains the relatively tenuous financial position of the publishing industry and its negative impact on translating, especially within the country's francophone press. The role of literary agents in the translating process is outlined, and a decline in popularity for French-Canadian theater among English-speaking Canadians is noted. Particular focus is given to the work of translator Donald Winkler.
