- Abstract
This article presents forecasting for the discipline and methodology of history between 2009 to 2049. The author raises questions regarding the assumption that the humanities as a scholastic field will shift from individually-centered work to collaborative initiatives. Additional reflections are given noting the impact of digital archiving and Internet research on the methodology and availability of historical research, suggesting that research has become and will continue to be easier and less resource-demanding, but that it may not change the demand for scholastic output.
