- Abstract
The article offers information on the history, concept and challenges in developing and implementing performance-based requirements for concrete in the U.S. It states that the performance specifications have been developed in 2002 by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) through Prescription to Performance (P2P) initiative. It notes that some of the challenges in implementing the requirements include the lack of generally accepted short-term test methods and acceptance criteria.
