The article discusses the possible influence of the poem "The Mariner," by Ann Radcliffe on the poem "The Ancient Mariner," by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. The author compares both works in terms of their maritime setting, explores both works supernatural elements, and examines how both poems focus on the sinking of a ship.
