- Abstract
The article focuses on the ion chain mechanism of catalytic alkylation of 2,6-Di-tert-btylphenol by methyl acrylate. The catalytic alkylation in the presence of monomer potassium or sodium proceeds at higher rates and gives the alkylation product up to 98% yield. The experimental kinetic data found to be consistent with the possibility of ion chain mechanism in the presence of 2,6-di-tert-butylphenoxide monomers, potassium and sodium.
