- Abstract
The article discusses various manifestos and calls-to-action related to translation and academia. It explores the historical genre of manifestos and their role in advocating for change when institutions have failed to address certain issues. The author reflects on their own responsibilities as an academic Department Chair and discusses the importance of translators taking action themselves rather than relying on institutions to make necessary changes. They propose the idea of "Professors of Translation" across disciplines to promote multilingualism and translation practices within academia. The article emphasizes the need for translators and multilingual scholars to come together and create a movement to challenge the dominance of Anglophone monolingualism in universities.
