- Title
Transgender, Transgression, and Translation: A Cartography of Nat Kadaws: Notes on Gender and Sexuality within the Spirit Cult of Burma.
- Authors
Ho, Tamara C.
- Abstract
An essay is presented on transgender, transgression, and translation processes which function through various representations of nat kadaws or Burmese sprit mediums. It mentions the challenge of speaking across cultures and languages through the revaluation of the 2002 San Francisco International Lesbian and Gay Festival. Furthermore, it says that the male cross-gender behavior in Burma combines with social function and status of nat kadaw with gender and sexuality.
