- Abstract
The aim of this research is to determine the effect of job satisfaction on burnout and to determine the mediating role of self-assessment in this effect. The population of the research consists of 850 personnel working in a state economic enterprise headquartered in Ankara. The sample of the research was determined by convenience sampling method with 271 personnel working in the unit of this state economic enterprise in Bandırma. Ethics Committee Approval of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University meeting number 2020-3 and dated 18/06/2020 was obtained in order to conduct the survey in this institution. Reliability, frequency, normality test, multiple correlation, mediator regression analysis were performed. The results showed job satisfaction affects burnout, job satisfaction affects self-evaluation, self-assessment affects burnout, and self-assessment has a full mediating role in the relationship between job satisfaction and burnout. It was seen that there were significant relationships between the job satisfaction of the employees and their burnout levels. In addition, it has been observed that there are positive and significant relationships between the job satisfaction of the employees and their self-evaluation. At the end of the study, the results were interpreted and discussed. Suggestions have been made for future work.
