- Abstract
Workers from the twentieth-first century face a labor-context full of uncertainties and instabilit ies derived from the current capitalist system, which is characterized as a social ruler that oppresses and compromises the labor relations. The present configurations of oppression and exploitation generate violation of labor-social rights. Thereby, the processes of subjectivation keep strict connection to pathogenic sufferingwith the banalization of evil and individualism at work. All these elements interfere with the creation of meaning at work. For this purpose, this study aims to comprehend the meaning of work for community-health agents (CHAs) that work within public health, more specifically at one Basic Health Unit, located in state hinterland, as well as the effects/impact of their daily work routine over their health. The study was adequate to a research-action using the theoretical perspectives oflabor psychodynamics, unveiling a space for collective listening and discussion with the workers in their labor environment. For the assessment of the data It we used the content analysis, which originated the following categories: The meaning of work. dialectics of suffering and pleasure. The research showed that the CHAs has been denied the practice of creative capacity and identity, what causes a pathogenic suffering. Thus, it was concluded that it is urgent to open potential spaces for conviviality, where cooperation and subjective mobilization resonates with the health-team.
