- Abstract
Al-Co co⁃doped lithium ion sieves precursors Li1.6 (Mn1-xAlx )1.6CoyO4 was synthesized by hydrothermal process using electrolytic manganese dioxide and lithium chloride as raw materials, doped with a small amount of aluminum chloride and cobalt chloride. The crystal phase, morphology, element distribution and lithium adsorption performance of Al-Co co⁃ doped lithium ion sieves were studied by XRD, SEM, TEM and Li+ adsorption and desorption property test. The results showed that Al-Co co⁃doped lithium ion sieve had spinel structure. A nanosheet polyhedral morphology and a uniform element distribution was obtained for the specimen. When the initial concentration for Li+ solution was 100 mg/L, the Li+ equilibrium adsorption capacity for H1.6 (Mn0.9Al0.1 )1.6Co0.05O4 was 38.53 mg/L and the Li+ adsorption performance was significantly improved. After 5 cycles of adsorption and desorption experiments, the Li+ adsorption capacity could be maintained at 92% of the initial adsorption capacity. Therefore, due to the synergistic effect of the two elements, Al-Co co⁃doping could make lithium ion sieves obtain excellent adsorption performance and cycling stability.
