A literary criticism of the book "Disgrace," by J. M. Coetzee is presented. It examines the reconciliation politics of postapartheid South Africa in relation to complicity and collaboration. It outlines the life of fictional character David Lurie, a 52-year-old African university professor struggling to create an opera. It also analyzes the connection between race and sex in South Africa.
