- Abstract
The article presents a study which aims to demonstrate the effects of inorganic mercuric chloride (HgCl2) and organic mercurial fungicide (emisan) to the hypothalamo-neurohypophysial system in relation to the reproduction of Channa (C.) punctatus. The study used more than 150 adult C. punctatus that were bought from the local fish market in Varanasi, India. Results show that fishes exposed to HgCl2 have neurons with cellular pyknosis and nuclear necrosis.
