- Abstract
This article is a critical reflection of the theories of pleasure, suffering and discomfort at the workplace, from the psychodynamics of work and the clinics of workplace. A qualitative study was carried out, in which several scientific texts in Spanish and Portuguese on workplace clinics were analyzed. Results showed that, influenced by their novelty, there is little research on these theories in Colombia, both as a subdiscipline and as a possibility for intervention. Little attention is paid to pleasure/discomfort in workers since these concepts are considered of little relevance to the well-being of people in organizations. The paper also highlights some of the differences between discomfort and suffering, and their relationship to mental health and productivity at work.
