- Abstract
Domestic violence is a widespread social problem with a long history. This problem affects individuals negatively physically, psychologically, sexually or economically. The reason why domestic violence, which has a very old origin, has survived until today, stems from the cycle of violence. With this study, it was aimed to prevent the cycle of violence by increasing awareness of the types of domestic violence and the factors that cause this violence. Systematic review method was used in the study and 19 articles related to the subject were included in the study. In the research findings, it was seen that there are four types of domestic violence as physical, economic, sexual and economic violence. Again, it is among the findings that the cycle of violence is divided into three headings: the cycle of violence seen between spouses, the cycle of violence that is passed on from generation to generation through social learning, and the transformation between types of violence. As a result, unless the cycle of violence common in society is prevented, violent behavior will not be prevented. In this context, knowing the risk factors that lead to violence will be useful in preventing the cycle of violence.
