- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 24-day-old girl observed to have a severe inflammation and prominent discharge in her left eye, later identified as an infection caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The usual treatment against MRSA includes drugs such as chloramphenicol, arbekacin, and/or vancomycin. In some cases, MRSA can be resistant to such drugs. The option of using monotherapy of a high concentration of minocycline (MINO) ointment is mentioned.
