- Title
Body Sensors: wireless Access to physiological Data.
- Authors
Jurik, Andrew D.; Weaver, Alfred C.
- Abstract
The article discusses body sensors. Sensing technology has been in existence for over 100 years. Sensors for accessing physiological data embody four main functions including sensing and processing units, a transceiver unit, and an energy unit. Sensors can be either wearable or implantable, with the latter subject to rigid specifications for obvious reasons. Managing power consumption is essential for a sensing device. Software for sensors must be designed for an environment of limited processing power and memory INSET: Hints for the Practitioner.
