- Abstract
This article discusses the contributions of two scientists, Korbinian Brodmann and Olof Larsell, to the understanding of the human brain. Brodmann, a German neuropsychiatrist, mapped the cerebral cortex and identified 52 different regions known as Brodmann's areas. Larsell, a Swedish-American anatomist, developed a nomenclature system for mapping the cerebellum called "Larsell nomenclature." Their research laid the foundations for current advances in human brain anatomy. Despite this, their work is not widely known by neurologists, neuroanatomists, neuroradiologists, or neurosurgeons.
