- Abstract
The article discusses the history of the Hungarian ceramics manufacturing company Zsolnay, with an emphasis on the presence of ceramics made at the Zsolnay Ceramics Factory in Pécs, Hungary throughout the country. The historical development of the company by the Hungarian Zsolnay family is described. Zsolnay ceramics were used in a number of architectural projects throughout Europe. Emphasis is given to the use of these glazed ceramics in a number of buildings in Budapest, Hungary, including the Ferihegy Airport, the Postal Savings Bank, and the Budapest Zoo. The renovation of the Zsolnay Factory complex in Pécs is detailed.
