- Abstract
The article explores the literary legacy and the concept of linguistic self-expression in the poetry of Hungarian author Miklós Radnóti. The author notes the final poems written by Radnóti and the role of the Holocaust in his writing. His poetry is compared by the author to the American confessional poetry of authors such as Robert Lowell and Anne Sexton. Aspects of Radnóti's poetry are analyzed such as his Jewish identity, his Catholicism, his political stances, and his Hungarian identity. Other topics include his murder in a labor camp, awareness of death, and creative output.
