- Abstract
This article presents a case study of a pediatric patient with drug-induced fixed urticaria (DIFU) after receiving plasma-derived activated prothrombin complex concentrate (aPCC) for a bleeding disorder. The patient underwent a successful desensitization protocol to continue treatment, as there were no other options available. Desensitization is a method used to temporarily tolerate a drug and allow for ongoing treatment. The article highlights the need for further research to better understand the immunological mechanisms involved in fixed-drug eruption (FDE) and DIFU.
