- Abstract
The article discusses Australian rural health care and examines the reasons why recruiting general practitioners (GPs) in rural areas is difficult. Details are provided about common perceptions of rural community in Australia and about the opinions of partners of GPs regarding rural life. Information is also presented about research being conducted on how GP partners respond to rural placements.
