- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 62-year-old woman with encephalopathy associated with severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS). The patient had normal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) protein and glucose levels. She underwent real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (PCR) of the CSF to confirm her condition. Her treatment included experimental plasma exchange followed by convalescent plasma therapy.
