- Abstract
A reprint of the essay "Form, Substance and Difference" by Gregory Bateson which appeared in the text of the 1970 presentation of Bateson at the Alfred Korzybski Memorial Lecture is presented. The essay focuses on the relations between an organism and its environment, the emergence of evolutionary theories including the Lamarckian theory and Darwinism and the notion of difference in the communication or mental process. Also discussed is the pleroma and the creatura worlds of explanation.
