- Abstract
This editorial published in Frontiers in Endocrinology discusses the role of exercise in treating metabolic syndrome (MetS) and its associated diseases. MetS is a condition characterized by dysfunctional metabolic processes and is linked to diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases. The editorial emphasizes the potential of exercise to alleviate MetS and explores the role of pyroptosis, a cell death pattern, in improving metabolic disorders. It also examines the effects of exercise on insulin resistance, age-induced obesity, and type-2 diabetes mellitus. The article concludes that exercise interventions offer promising strategies to inhibit pyroptosis, reduce inflammation, and enhance metabolic health. The document includes references to three scientific articles related to aging adipose tissue, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and the effects of tai chi intervention on inflammatory factors in patients with prediabetes, providing valuable information for library patrons conducting research on these topics.
