- Abstract
An essay is presented on the analysis of the brief tenure of Tom Dent as Free Southern Theater's (FST) artistic director during the peak season of the urban crisis in New Orleans, Louisiana. It presents a model demonstrating the use of archival research in addressing the historical interrelationship among aesthetic choices, writers, and lived performances in certain urban environment. It also mentions the development of the Free Southern Theater and the plays of Dent.
