- Abstract
Objective: This study was conducted to compare the lactate and performance values obtained from repeated sprint tests (RSTs) with the same total distances, rest ratios, and set numbers but different execution methods, and to determine if there is a relationship between them. Material and Methods: In the study, straight (1) RST with 20 seconds rest interval consisting of 8x30 meters and 5 different (2.2x1600, 3.2x1300, 4.2x1000, 5.3x1000, 6.4x1000) directional RST were used. 8 athletes playing in the Turkish Super League, U-19 Elite Academy League participated in this study. Athletes were randomly divided into 6 groups and randomized tests were applied. A rest interval of at least 48 hours was given between all tests. The perceived difficulty level (PDL) was asked to the athletes immediately after the repeated sprint tests, and after 3 minutes, the maximum lactate values were determined by taking 5 µL of blood from the earlobes of the athletes. The differences between the values were examined with the analysis of variance test in repeated measurements. Results: As a result of the study, a significant difference was found between the first test and the other tests in PDL values (p<0.05). Among the performance values obtained from the tests, only the total time value was found to have a significant relationship between the 2nd and 3rd repeated sprint tests (r=0.735). Conclusion: Considering these results, it was concluded that each test should be evaluated when the relationship between the repeated sprint test was examined.
