- Abstract
The article examines the long term effectiveness of Helicobacter pylori eradication programs for prevention of recurrence of gastric cancer in patients diagnosed with gastric adenocarcinoma. It mentions that patients who had negative test results for urea breath test were at greater risk for recurrence of Helicobacter pylori infections. The recurrence of gastric adenocarcinoma was dependant upon antibiotic treatment regime prescribed for patients. It further mentions that adherence to antibiotics and regular follow up of patients with treatment procedure reduces the risk of cancer recurrence.
