- Title
Blueprint for Mandating Indoor Air Quality for Public Buildings in Form of Standards.
- Abstract
A group of international experts, led by QUT Professor Lidia Morawska, has presented a blueprint for national indoor air quality standards for public buildings. The experts addressed setting standards for three key indoor pollutants - carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and PM2.5 particles - as well as ventilation rate. The Australian government is investing $70 million in the Pilbara Hydrogen Hub, which will be a major center for clean hydrogen production and export. The hub aims to create over 1,000 new jobs and will prioritize common-user infrastructure. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has finalized stronger limits on tailpipe pollution from cars and light trucks, which is expected to prevent 7 billion tons of climate pollution by 2055. The new standards are projected to prevent millions of asthma attacks and premature deaths each year.
