Perceptions of Rape Myths and Men.

- Abstract
This article exposes a rather disturbing reality--that at the present time, decades after the birth of feminism and well after the emergence of the WeToo movement, rape myths still persist, and rape culture is still very much alive. Author Jennifer Huck summarizes the results of her online study, which measured a wide range of variables--including attitudes such as gender equity, dominance, and empathy, as well as other factors like self-perception of masculinity/femininity, race, marital status, income, and others--to uncover the strongest statistical predictors of male endorsement of rape myths. Not surprisingly, among the best predictors were the men's attitudes regarding gender equality and social dominance.
