- Abstract
In the study, it is aimed to examine the studies on the opinions of parents about the 4-6 age Qur'an courses, which have been operating since 2013 under the Presidency of Religious Affairs, by meta-synthesis method and to obtain a general evaluation. Studies carried out in different regions of Turkey on this subject have obtained both similar and different findings and results. Meta-synthesis, which is used as a method in the study, has a feature that analyzes the findings and results related to an increasing number of researches in qualitative research and enables a general evaluation to be made. By using this method, it is thought that a general panorama can be obtained about the data and results of the studies that include the opinions of the parents who send their children to Qur'an courses aged 4-6 in Turkey. A total of 10 studies were included in the study group. These were examined and coded by the researcher, and then the themes were reached. The themes reached; Why the course is preferred, the content of the courses, achievements, physical conditions and instructor proficiency. According to the results, parents send their children to these courses primarily for religious education, then official institutions, advice, socialization, preparation for formal education. Findings related to the content of the education and achievements revealed the satisfaction of the parents in general, and also enabled the expression of various problems. While some of the data on physical conditions were sufficient, they also pointed to unfavorable and areas that need improvement. Finally, the parents found their instructors' content knowledge and pedagogical equipment sufficient in general, but they also touched on some communication and cooperation deficiencies.
