- Title
House Bill Exempts Nonfinancial Companies from Derivative "Margin" Requirements.
- Authors
Barlas, Stephen
- Abstract
The article reports on U.S. legislation. The legislative bill Business Risk Mitigation and Price Stabilization Act (H.R. 2682) eliminates a margin requirement for nonbank financial institutions that buy derivatives. A lack of support among senators for the companion bill (S. 1650) is noted. The comment of SEC Director of Enforcement Robert Khuzami on Sarbanes-Oxley Act's Section 304 regarding clawback prosecution is mentioned.
