It is suggested that modern humanism is also related to the movement within the humanities and social sciences known as the cultural turn. Details on attitudes towards humanism throughout the 20th and 21st centuries are presented. Particular focus is given to the relationship between World Wars I and II on European humanism. Other topics include multiculturalism, happiness, and social theorist Michel Foucault.
