- Abstract
The article discusses the protest conducted by Mi'kmaq natives, Acadians, and Anglophone people near Rexton, New Brunswick on October 17, 2013 against mineral exploration and development company Southwestern Resources Corp. It is inferred that the company has been given permission by the New Brunswick government to start hydraulic fracturing, without obtaining permission from the Mi'kmaq Nation. Details about the protests and the stereotypes for protesters in main stream news are given.
