- Title
América Latina y el Caribe ante la emergencia de China como socio ¿estratégico?
- Authors
Nacht, Pablo Alejandro
- Abstract
The article focuses on the potential effects of the political relationship between China and Latin America and the Caribbean. Critical factors in the development of this partnership include the role of Taiwan, the economic growth of China during the first decade of the 21st century, and China's relevance as a viable Asian commercial associate for Latin American and Caribbean countries. The possibility that China may overtake the more classic economic partners such as the United States and the European Union is also explored, and the author questions the possible economic impacts of inserting Latin America into the international economic field.
