- Authors
Lomelí, Francisco A.
- Abstract
This study aims to contextualize the nature and trajectory of how the border between Mexico and the United States has been perceived, labeled and dealt with. Its evolution offers insight into the working of two countries and how they have negated its importance until it became impossible to do so. Thus, we find multiple ways of representing and capturing it physically, politically and symbolically through transborder works of art, literature, testimonials and other popular sources. By focusing on the ideas of transgressions and convergences, we come to appreciate the extensive variety of approaches, perceptions, opinions and manifestations of this most unique region.
