The article discusses the popular type of memory for mobile applications known as ‘flash’ random access memory (flash-RAM)2. Two most promising contenders were being developed to succeed the flash memory, such as the magnetic RAM3, for storing information in the magnetization states of a ferromagnetic material, and ferroelectric RAM4 for storing information in the polarization states of a ferroelectric material.
