- Abstract
The article examines Rule 502 of the Federal Rule of Evidence for its strength and weaknesses for achieving the objectives of the U.S. Congress. The twin goal set by the Congress for Rule 502 were to achieve certainty and cost reduction and also discusses provisions related to resolving discovery disputes in Rule 502(d). The Judicial Conference of the U.S. made a revision as to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 26(f) to facilitate broader use of Rule 520(d).
