- Authors
LAT, DAVID; SHEMTOB, ZACHARY
- Abstract
The article discusses the proposed constitutional amendment in the U.S. on making executions public. It highlights impact of capital punishments on the nation's justice system since the reinstatement in 1976 which include its high costs, consumption of judicial resources, and concerns of fairness. The article argues that executions should be public as they would force Americans to truly endorse or reject the issue and help to create a true democracy.
