Title
Intriguing Marionetes.
Abstract
The article focuses on the 15 marionettes, in storage in the Museum Collections of the State Historical Society of North Dakota as of December 2016, created for the play "Uncle Tom's Cabin." The society bought these marionettes from Jane Harrison of Bismarck in 1976. Director Alice Bender donated the 15th marionette named Topsy. Thelma "Telle" Rudser hand-carved and designed the marionettes, which are considered historically significant works of art in the 21st century.
