- Abstract
The article discusses the work of philosopher Karmen MacKendrick in the history of medieval philosophy in her books "Fragmentation and Memory" and "Counterpleasures." It is said that such reflection on medieval, often Catholic philosophy is not common in Continental philosophy. Topics include the thought of theologian Augustine of Hippo, the doctrine of original sin, and the relation between pleasure and desire.
