- Abstract
The article focuses on a study on the thermal behaviors of polystyrene (PS) that has been plasticized with compressed carbon dioxide (CO2) in a sealed system. The experiment used a high-pressure stainless steel pan to be able to proceed under pressures of up to 100 atmosphere (atm). It notes that evaporation rate slowed while the sample and pan cool down along with the evaporation of dry ice. Results indicate that compressed CO2 have varying effects on glass transition temperature (Tg) based on its supercritical point.
