- Abstract
An essay is presented that offers poetry criticism of poems published in periodicals by poet Robert Browning. The influence of Browning's wife Elizabeth Barrett Browning (EBB) on his publication outlets is noted. Poems analyzed include the book-length poem "The Inn Album," "Helen's Tower," and "To Edward FitzGerald." Periodicals in which Browning published include the newspaper "The New York Times," the magazine "Athenaeum," and the magazine "Atlantic Monthly."
