- Abstract
The article discusses the dispute system design and the mediation of contested parades for intensifying democracy in Northern Ireland. It relates such dispute system to theories of democratic dialogue such as the Habermasian theories of communication action. It explores the background of the Northern Ireland Parades Commission which demonstrates the contribution of such system to the resolution of identity-based conflict.
