- Abstract
The article examines the principles and objectives of a social movement led by African Americans in order to shift power to African people. Topics discussed include killing of African American teenager Mike Brown by officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri; need of laws to govern police terrorism, the criminalization of Black communities and police brutality; and outrage against Mike Brown's murder that found expression in urban rebellion.
